Abstract
Understanding the concept of Creating Shared Value (in short, CSV) is not difficult, but putting it into practice is a complex matter. Therefore, Yuhan Kimberly’s CSV through ‘Senior Business’ is an example that deserves attention. ‘Senior Business’, the CSV which Yuhan Kimberly’s pushing forward has characteristic of solving the aging phenomenon of our society while creating and developing a new business area. To gain outcomes through CSV activities, company’s internal circumstances such as quality of products, scale/capability of organization, organizational culture, etc. should be suitable internally, while assisting problem solving of society externally. From this point of view, Yuhan Kimberly’s CSV fits with company’s internal conditions as well as helps with the company’s external situation. Especially, the CSV of Yuhan Kimberly is a valuable topic to research since it seeks direct-indirect outcomes through the virtuous circle the act creates. It is different from most of the previous CSV activities which achieve outcomes by direct interaction or coexistence of company and beneficiaries. For theoretical development and realistic vitalization, effort on discovering and accumulating diverse cases is needed. Yuhan Kimberly’s example is expected to be a model case for both academy and practice.
