Abstract

In recent studies, PBL has been generally applied to the curriculum of medical school. However, It is suggested that PBL should be applied to the other fields of disciplines. Not only in medical school but in other applied sciences, the importance of PBL has been increased in teaching and learning method. Especially, the curriculum of business administration as applied science has two main purposes: acquiring the basic knowledge and increasing administrative practice. Therefore our study tried to apply PBL to business administration class. The main issues of PBL study (1) has been verifying the success factors of PBL such as abilities of teacher, teaching-learning process, learning environment etc., and (2) designing instruction of PBL to facilitate the learning performances. But it is required that variables of learner's individual differences should be considered, because PBL is student-centered and self-directed learning. The objective of our study is to investigate the influences of students' learning styles on PBL in business administration class. With Grasha & Riechmann learning styles measurement, students are classified into six groups: independent, dependent, collaborative, competitive, participant, avoidant. An ANOVA analysis reveals that there are the significant differences of PBL outcome in students learning styles.
