Abstract
International markets offer new opportunities for businesses. And accessing international markets is easier today than in the past. However, the ease of access also means that companies are less prepared to enter foreign markets and are more likely to fail. In this study, we selected Chunghwan, a company operating in the fishery industry in the Middle East and Africa region, as the subject of analysis by expanding the industries, company size, overseas markets, and success factors covered by existing studies on success factors in overseas markets. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting the success of overseas expansion through case analysis. After analyzing the case of CHEONGWAN CO., LTD., we found that Chairman Kim's success factors were (1) overseas experience, (2) international entrepreneurship, (3) bricolage, and (4) CSR. In conclusion, we discuss our findings' theoretical and practical implications as limitations and future research directions.
