Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify the reasons behind the success of Hanmi Global which has planted the seed of CM(Construction Management) and developed it to a level of globalization based on the Excellent Company Model which is developed by the author. The paper also describes how employees of Hanmi Global perceive its management and identifies points of improvement in its management through questionnaire surveys. Hanmi Global has successfully carried out strategic, systematic and humanistic sides of management based on vision and culture which are the necessary elements to become an excellent company. The vision of Hanmi Global is oriented towards the world best and is well practiced with high sense of shared feeling among employees. Hanmi Global practices ethical management based on the culture of integrity with a high level of autonomy and responsibility among employees. Strategically Hanmi Global has adapted well to the changing environment by introducing different businesses timely for the situation. Systematically Hanmi Global successfully introduced systems for performance improvement such as knowledge management systems. Humanistically Hanmi Global is a model case for other companies as is evidenced by the reception of the Great Work Place Awards 8 times consecutively and the successful establishment of a management succession program.
