Abstract

This case study is about a success of the AtlasBX which accomplished the greatest profit in 2008. The AtlasBX was facing with serious difficulties resulted from increasing plumbum cost and organizational slump up to 2006. The case highlights the CEO’s powerful transformational leadership as a facilitator of HPWS contributed to the radical financial performance increase and organizational trust between management and employees. The management suggested the vision to the employees and pursued the differentiation strategy through technological innovation. Also, they introduced the practices of High Performance Work System, which encourages the employees to participate in the work system, and perseveres in their efforts to increase trust. Finally, they made a remarkable financial growth and revitalized the organizational culture. This case study shows that the effectiveness of the High Performance Work System and importance of CEO’s leadership between HPWS and firm’s performance in the depressed medium business.
