Abstract

The web hosting industry has made a large amount of contribution to the development of the Internet industry in Korea for the last ten years. However, due to its intrinsic nature of low entry barrier, an excessive number of companies are currently performing their business in the market, and thus the web hosting industry now suffers from very high competition each other with little profits.The current case study of Asadal, one of the leading web hosting companies, shows the current market structure and environment of the web hosting industry, and also reveals how Asadal made the successful growth in such a competitive market. This study also describes the history of the web hosting industry from its beginning, discusses current problems the industry are being confronted with, and suggests governmental policies to solve those problems. Next, we describe the Asadal's competitive strategies and diverse attractive services which aims for a larger market share and increased customer satisfaction. Finally, the current study discusses the future of Asadal and its strategic services to be the market leader in the future.
