This paper investigates the evolution of three strategic alliance groups in the global telecommunication service industry. The paper first summarizes the circumstances of strategic alliance and M&A as means of global competition and cooperation. It then identifies the particular characteristics of global telecommunication service ventures, and presents the conceptual framework which is used to compare the strategic alliance groups such as ①Concert, ②WorldPartners and ③Global One. We specially focus on the process of competition and cooperation regarding these three strategic alliance groups. Finally, based on this comparative analysis, implications for Korean telecommunication carriers' global strategy and information communication policy are presented.
